Ronald Lee Heyen, 86 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Friday, July 23, 2021 in his residence.  He was born in West Terre Haute on September 25, 1934 to Fred and Cecil Heyen.

Ronnie attended both Missouri State University and Indiana State University where he played basketball for both schools and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and played basketball for the Marines. He was a retired lab technician with Tredegar, but most importantly, was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Ronnie is survived by his wife Maria Arnold Heyen and their children; Genny Watson (Randy), Theresa Robinson, Stephan Noble, Bradley Heyen, and Damon Noble.  He is also survived by two sisters, Loretta Heyen and Beverly Williams (John), a son-in-law, Ian Hewitt, a sister-in-law, Mary Heyen, and his grandchildren; Somer Nourse (Brian), Sarah Pigg (Daniel), Nick Nolan, Jessica Nolan, Kelsie Noble, Mychal Noble, Christian Robinson (Kaylee), Kensie Robinson, Kyle Watson, Elijah Noble, Matt Robinson, and Thera Jackson.  He also leaves behind his great grandchildren; India Pigg, Allyn Nourse, Elliot Pigg, Alyssa Nibert, AdaLee Nolan, Dominic Robinson, Lexi Bachstein, Jack Jackson, Mara Robinson, and Reese Robinson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Brenda Hewitt, and siblings Otis, Delmar, Glen, Earl, Opal, and Oma.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life service to be held at Sycamore Winery on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
