Mary Eileen (Chrisman) Ellingsworth

Terre Haute

Mary Eileen Ellingsworth, 96, passed away on October 7, 2020 at Westminster Health Care Center.  She was born July 25, 1924 in St. Mary of the Woods Village to Raymond and Hilda (Hants) Chrisman.  She graduated from Valley High School in West Terre Haute and married Robert Ellingsworth in 1944.  Together they raised two daughters and enjoyed 62 years of marriage.  She was a strong but kind, gentle and loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.  Eileen worked as a legal secretary and in food service for the Vigo County School Corporation.  She and her husband were active and long-time members of St. Margaret Mary Church.  Her greatest joys in life were preparing tasty meals, getting together with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and volunteering for church activities.

Eileen is survived by daughters Linda Wassel (Paul) and MaryAnn Ellingsworth, grandchildren Christina Wassel, and Robert Wassel (Kelly), and two great grandchildren Daphne and Keenan all of St. Louis, MO.  She is also survived by two brothers, Jim Chrisman (Dorothy) and Kenny Chrisman, and several nieces and nephews.  Eileen was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, sisters Doris and Joanne, and brothers Arthur, Jack, Dave, Wayne, Danny, and Billy Joe.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:00 am Saturday October 10, 2020 at St. Margaret Mary Church with Father Daniel Bedel officiating.  Visitation is in the church before Mass from 9:00 to 10:00 am.  Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.  The family asks that masks be worn and social distancing be observed during visitation and Mass.  Also, the family wishes to thank Dr. Vuppula V. Reddy, Westminster Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Hospice of the Wabash Valley for their kind, compassionate care.  If friends should so desire, donations may be made to St. Margaret Mary Church or Hospice of the Wabash Valley.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.  Online condolences may be left with Fitzpatrick Funeral Home at:  www.fitzpatrickfunerals.com
