Marjorie R. (Payne) Tavern

Marjorie Ruth Tavern, 90, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, August 1st, 2019.

Marjorie was born October 21st, 1928 to Ervin Hershel Payne & Daisy Roena Payne in Crawfordsville, IN. She married Leonard H. Tavern on June 5th, 1954.

Marjorie is a member of Memorial United Methodist Church of Terre Haute, IN. She was a homemaker and loved to make crafts including sewing and quilting, crocheting, and painting. She was also known for her homemade noodles and pumpkin bread.

She is survived by her husband, son Richard (Jane) Tavern, daughter Teresa (Jim) Bailey, grandchildren Matthew (Shelby) Tavern, Jennifer (Craig) Fisher, Jaclyn (Matt) German, Lisa (Andy) Calmes, Kimberly (Blake) Grimmett, Michael (Logan) McNew, Hunter McNew, Kyrsten McNew, sister Janet (Duane) Clements, twelve great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Marjorie was proceeded in death by her parents and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00 PM, With Pastor Steve Moore officiating.  Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 11: 00 am – 1:00 pm at the funeral home.
