Madge I. (Allison) Hobson

New Goshen

Madge I. Hobson, 93, of New Goshen, passed away August 12, 2019 in Union Hospital.

She was born October 30, 1925 in Clark County, Illinois to James Henry Allison and Mamie Elizabeth King Allison.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Hobson, who passed away in December 1986; two brothers, Jim Allison and Reece Allison; and four grandchildren.

Madge leaves behind all eight of her children, Patty Fields (Mike), Beth Wilson, Glenda Favre (Walter “Lucky”), Cathy Orr (John), Beverly Noblitt, Edward “Lee” Hobson (Libbi) Donna Frey (Marion “Bud” Gerald) and Ronald Hobson; her 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren. Madge also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Lucille Allison; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sharon and Jerry Wampler.

Madge retired from Midland Glass and resided at Maryvale, St-Marys-of-the-Woods for many years. She most recently lived at Westminster Village. Madge loved to cook for her friends at Maryvale. Her family would like to thank those at Westminster and Union Hospital who took such good care of her; especially Lacey and Kim at Westminster Village.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in Pleasantview Cemetery (Tecumseh). Visitation will be Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 2-7 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana. Pastor Bob Roush will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial donations to the Terre Haute Humane Society.
