John Henry Lascurain

John Henry Lascurain, 72 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:57 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 in his residence.  He was born in Vigo County on December 8, 1947 to Nells Lascurain and Edith Akers.

John was a carpenter and loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved to mushroom hunt.

John is survived by six sisters;  Bert Hoopingarner (Tim), Carol Weir (George), Juanita Pickens (Emitt), Barb Hoopingarner (Glen), Ethel Niccum, and Brenda Schoenwolf (Don), two brothers, Mike Niccum, Sr. and Joseph Turner, as well as two brothers-in-law, Butch Harris and Abby Fleschner.  Also surviving are special nieces and nephews; Tammy Lewis (Troy), Tabby Donnelly (Brent), and Timmy Hoopingarner (Tracy), and special great nieces and nephews; Hannah, Braelyn, and Trayton Lewis, and Macalyn Donnelly, special friend Cathy from Ohio,  his special dog Marley, and several other nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father Nells Lascurain, his mother and step-father, Edith and Ted Turner, as well as two sisters, Rose Harris and Helen Fleschner.

In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has been chosen and no services scheduled at this time.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
