James P. Boatman, 68, of West Terre Haute passed away Tuesday January 26, 2021 in his residence. He was born January 13, 1953 in Terre Haute to Arbie Boatman and Itha Hedden Boatman. He was a roofer with the Roofers Union Local 150. Survivors include: His Wife, Donna Boatman; a son Jimmy Boatman (Jan); two step-daughters Amy McCalister (Brian), and Christie Lindley (Jake); two sisters Marge Trench, and Nellie Jo Montgomery (Bill); a sister-in-law Kay Boatman; six grandchildren: Eathan Boatman (Taylor), Isaac Boatman (Emma), Zoey Boatman, Ryan Crowther, Jaliegh Lindley, Caprice McCalister, and Landry Cogar; a great granddaughter Nova; several nieces and nephews; and special Friends: Donnie Krise, Roger and Shelly Montgomery, Bud and Charless Montgomery; Brenda Krise, and Terry Hedden. He was preceded in death by a brother Gary Boatman and a brother-in-law John Trench. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time on the river with his friends. A memorial service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 13 in Dresser Church with Pastor Buddy White officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 noon until service time in the church. Burial of his ashes will follow services at 2:00 p.m. in Bethesda Memorial Park. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
