Henry W. Phillips

Henry W. Phillips, 83 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, August 11, 2022 in Harrison’s Crossing.  He was born in Terre Haute on February 5, 1939 to William Henry Phillips and Ethelberta Ross Phillips.

Henry was a Union Carpenter with Carpenter’s Union Local # 133 for 42 years.  He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was director of the AWANA Program for 20 years at the church, and also was a former troop leader for Boy Scouts Troop # 426.

Henry is survived by his wife Carolyn May Phillips and their two sons, Bryan Phillips and Dean Phillips.  He is also survived by a brother, Waller Phillips, and a sister, Patricia Hayes, eight grandchildren; Darcy Diehl (Joe), Sara Phillips, Chelsea Deal (Adam), Ginny Hayes (Eric), Amanda Phillips, Joel Phillips, Justin Phillips, and Jessica Phillips, as well as nine great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Private family graveside services will be held at Bethesda Cemetery on Saturday, August 20, 2022 with Brother Robert Thrift officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethesda Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
