Dorothy Louise (Richardson) Whitaker

Dorothy Louise Whitaker, 71 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:35 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  She was born in Paducah, KY on April 4, 1949 to John Richardson and Edna Chambers Richardson.

Dorothy was a member of the West Terre Haute American Legion Post # 501 Ladies Auxiliary, and she loved to play BINGO and spend time with her grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her husband James Richard Whitaker, Sr., whom she married November 17, 1974, as well as three children; John Ross Andrew Whitaker (wife Ashley), Jenifer Whitaker Miller (husband Rodney), and Jill Ruth Anna Whitaker.  She is also survived by a brother, Carmel Richardson, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as a brother, Jimmy Rogers, and a sister, Betty Faducha.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at 1:00 PM.  Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
