Christine "Chris" (Scott) Johnson

Christine “Chris” Johnson, 78 of Dennison, IL passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Union Hospital.  She was born in Terre Haute on December 22, 1943 to Vern Scott and Claudia Hensley Scott.

Chris was a member of Patton United Methodist Church in Dennison, IL and was a teacher for the Marshall School District for over 30 years.

Chris is survived by her husband of 63 years, Chester “Chet” Johnson and their three children; Dana Johnson, Daniel Johnson, and Darrell Johnson (Megan).  She is also survived by her grandchildren; Dustin Delinois, , Dirk Delinois (Heather), Ashly Johnson, Mika Johnson, Danica Johnson, and Mason Johnson, as well as great grandchildren; Carson, Case, Kensington, Conner, and Paisley, and her brother, David Scott.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister, Mary Jo Edwards.

Chris enjoyed traveling with her husband and spending time with friends.  She enjoyed spending time with the friends that she made during her teaching years as well as the friends she made while traveling.  Chris loved her family very much and was a devoted, supportive, and loving wife, mother, mother-in-law and mimi.  She loved reminiscing and telling stories with her family and having her home filled with their chatter and laughter.  She especially loved watching her grandchildren play.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date at Patton United Methodist Church.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
