Beverly A. (Stitt) Beasley

Beverly A. Beasley, 84 of Terre Haute and formerly of West Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care.  She was born in Peru, IN on December 20, 1935 to Richard A. Stitt and Margaret Overmyer Stitt.

Beverly was a former Art teacher and painted many backdrops and sets for West Vigo Musicals and was very active in 4-H in Vigo County.   Her memberships include Bethany United Church of Christ, where she served on various committees, and Sigma Delta Pi Teachers’ Sorority.  She was very proud to be an alumnus of ISU and was a huge supporter of both the Men’s and Women’s Basketball programs.  She loved to scrapbook and was a longtime “ticket taker” for all sporting events at West Vigo, and was instrumental in keeping fly ash from being buried in the area.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband Edward Beasley who passed away on April 21, 2019.

Beverly is survived by her daughter, Jane Ann Dobihal and her husband, Mark; her grandchildren, Nicholas Battani and Ashley Moody and her husband, Jesse; and her great grandson, Jonah Moody.  Also surviving are two brothers; James A. Stitt and Ralph Stitt and his wife, Jan, and a special niece, Amy Zinn and her husband, Steve.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Steve Moore and Pastor Joe Irwin officiating.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in her memory to the Terre Haute Humane Society or VNA Hospice of the Wabash Valley, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
