William Joseph Marrs—
03/12/1956-02/01/23
William (Bill) Joseph Marrs, 66, went to be with our heavenly father on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 12, 1956 in Terre Haute, IN, Bill was the son of John and Carolyn Marrs.
He was a lifelong farmer and a masonry contractor for 40 plus years. Bill was so proud of his family. He enjoyed spending his time with the grandkids, gardening, and working on the family farm with his brothers, Dave, Greg, and Matt. He greatly enjoyed the time spent with his sisters, Cindy, Sheila, Angela, and Gloria. He was not just proud of his family, his family was proud of him. He inspired us all by courageously battling cancer for 7 years.
Bill was devoted to the Catholic faith. His peace and strong presence will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him. He was the best husband, dad, and papaw we could have asked for. He showed us what a strong faithful man was, and we are forever grateful for his 66 years on earth.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife, Donna of nearly 44 years and their six children: Billy (Suzanne), Brandon (Olivia), Bryan (Mandi), Blake, Brittany (David), and Breanna (Jarred). He is also survived by his twelve loving grandchildren: William, Delaney, Max, Katy, Maeley, Rhett, Addison, Nolan, Amelia, Ridgley, Jade and Sophia, and many nieces and nephews. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Carolyn and John Marrs, his brothers, Mark, Douglas, and Randy Marrs, and brother in law, Dale Moore.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and healthcare workers that have given him such great care over the years.
Visitation will be held from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Monday, February 6th at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN, with a rosary service at 7:00 PM and also on Tuesday visitation will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 7th at 12:05pm with Father Bob St. Martin officiating.
