Waunita Ella Mae Edington Jackson, 83 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 3:10 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Providence Health Care Center. She was born in Vigo County on June 29, 1936 to Loren Bruce Edington and Marie Riley Edington.
Ella Mae worked as a waitress for several area restaurants and attended Trinity Church.
Ella Mae is survived by her siblings; Loretta Jean Savant (Tony), Kenneth “Bud” Edington (Elsie), Jeanette Stultz (Dick) and Sandy Howard (Steve), as well as grandchildren: Kenny Jackson, Nellie Jackson, Angel Jackson, and Isaiah Jackson. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Maria Majors, special cousin, Bill Edington, and daughter-in-law, Lori Jackson, as well as several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman Richard Jackson, who passed away November 19, 2012, as well as four children; Debra Jackson, Ricky Jackson, Kenny Jackson, and Mike Jackson, a granddaughter, Jennifer Jackson, step-mother Geneva Edington, and siblings; Jim Edington, Dallas Majors, Bill Majors, and Jennifer Edington.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, June 5, 2020 at 3:00 PM, with Pastor Gary Burns officiating. Burial of ashes will occur at a later date at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are encouraged to visit and share stories about Ella Mae from 2:00 – 3:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home.
