Warren Eugene "Gene" Edwards

Warren Eugene “Gene”  Edwards, 80, passed away in his home in the early morning, Friday, June 8, 2018.

He was born March 22, 1938.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Logan and Hazel Edwards; and his three brothers, Edsel, Fred and Bob Edwards.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Louella J. Edwards; his five children and their spouses, Mike (Kathy) Edwards, Pam Davis (Charles Vicars), Tony (Kim) Edwards, Amy (Mark) Wickens, Mandy (Brent) Walden; and his stepson and his wife, Mark (Debbi) Guenzel. Gene is also survived by his thirteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; his two sisters, Janice (Tom) Wheat and Cheryl(Mike) Webster; his first wife and mother of his five children, Judy Anderson; and several nieces and nephews.

Gene worked at Columbia Records for 22 years and retired from Local 157 Plumbers and Steamfitters.

He loved fishing, hunting, spending time at the river, gardening, canning, dancing and being with his family. Gene was an avid watcher of sports on tv, especially IU basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was an excellent cook and grew beautiful flowers and plants.

A special thank you to our attorney, Jim McDonald, for helping us make these last years comfortable so we were able to take care of our family.

Service will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 12:00 noon at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Pastor Bob Roush will be officiating; burial will be in Pleasantview Cemetery.
