Walter Dale Blair

Walter Dale Blair, 74 of West Terre Haute, passed away in Union Hospital on September 7th, 2026. He was born to Leonard and Rella Blair on August 9th, 1952.

During the Vietnam War Walter worked as a Merchant Marine, assisting the military in shipping equipment across the Pacific. He then would go on to work for Consolidated Freight for 30+ years as a truck driver. When he wasn’t working Walter liked to fish, ride his motorcycle, listen to Elvis, and hang out at the Eagles. Walter was known for loving McDonalds coffee and sweet tea, so much so that some even called him the ‘McDonalds man’.

He is survived by his daughter Annie and son Jodi Blair. As well as brothers, sisters, grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Walter is proceeded in death by his parents, Leonard Blair and Rella Blair, as well as several siblings.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
