May 11, 1922—August 8, 2020

Walter Beauchamp, 98, of Terre Haute and formerly of Westfield, Indiana, passed away on August 8, 2020, at Meadows Manor East in Terre Haute, Indiana.  He was born May 11, 1922, in Deming, Indiana, to Edith and Lorin Beauchamp.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 62 years, Anna Ruth Beauchamp, and by his second wife of 8 years, Thelma Trautvetter.  He is survived by his two daughters, Debra (Rick) Petty and Linda (Tracy) Lindsay, both of Terre Haute, Indiana.  He is also survived by grandsons Brad (Sasha) Kelly, Patrick (Ann) Kelly, Adam (Allison) Lindsay, and Daniel (Whitney) Lindsay; along with nine great-grandchildren.

He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps and in the Korean War in the Air Force.  Following his military service, he worked as a heavy machine operator and mechanic.  After his retirement, he kept busy working on lawn mowers and helping friends and relatives maintain their yards.

Walter was an active, life-long member of Hinkle Creek Friends Church.  He was also a member of the Hinkle Masonic Lodge.

Private family graveside services will be held at Hinkle Creek Cemetery at Noblesville, Indiana, on Wednesday, Aug. 12, with Bob Stubbs officiating.  Masks are required.  Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
