Valencia Elaine Green “Val”, passed away July 12, 2026, in Union Hospital. She was born in Terre Haute, Indiana, on September 28, 1957, to John Vearl Green and Lou Ann Orndorff Green. Val loved to cook, so naturally she worked as one. She worked as a cook in several restaurants. Her favorite dish to feed her family and friends was chicken and noodles. She graduated from West Vigo High School. She was a former member of the Wesleyan Church in West Terre Haute, and she also frequented the Taylorville Church. Val also loved to garden, she loved flowers and plants. She also loved history, taking trips to look and learn about historical places. She also enjoyed taking trips to concerts and music festivals for Country Music.

Val is preceded in death by her parents, and a nephew, James Michael Munday. She is survived by her daughter, Leanna Green, sisters, Patricia Ann Green (Woodrow Dickerson) and Annette Stuck, granddaughter, Jaicey Lynn, nephew and nieces, John Green and Barbara Green (Danny Burns) along with nieces, Ann Marie Blevens, Danielle Stuck, and Diana Sanchez-Gonvalez, and several great nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 24, 2026, with a gathering of family and friends in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, from 2 until 4pm, with a service to begin at 4 pm. The family would like to thank Jamie and Diana of VNA and all the staff at VNA for their care and support of Val. A special thank you to Floyd and Bobbie Jo Jackson and Frank and Madonna Porter.
