Timothy (Tim) Michael Bird

February 27, 1948 – June 4, 2024

Timothy Michael Bird, 76, of Paris, Illinois passed away peacefully at Twin Lakes Rehab and Healthcare on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.   He was born on February 27, 1948 to Bennie A. and Lena Steppe Bird. 

Tim attended West Vigo High School and began his working career at Froderman Chevrolet. He also worked at the St. Mary-of-the-Woods Farm, Haley Brothers and Keys Fertilizer. Tim had a strong work ethic and was a dedicated employee.

When in good health, he enjoyed visiting family, friends and area farmers, especially Rick and Bryan Eastham. He was a member of Success Christian Church where he could be counted on to be the first one there to fix the coffee and to take his turn mowing the grass. In Tim’s years spent at Twin Lakes Rehab, he enjoyed his many rides through the country, especially his weekly rides with his brother Phil.

Tim is survived by his three children, Rebeca Bird, Freddie (Amy) Bird, and Amanda Bird. He was also the proud grandfather of Elijah, Caleb, Anna Grace and Joseph Bird, Chelsee, Jonathan and Landon Garvin. He was also blessed with two great-grandchildren with a third on the way.

Tim is survived by his siblings, Dave (Ruth Ann) Bird, Edie (Matt) Breneman, Jeannette (John) Wrin, Mark (Erna) Bird and Phil (Diana) Bird, along with numerous cousins and nieces and nephews. He leaves behind his closest and faithful friend, George, his dog.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Joseph Benjamin Bird.  

The family would like to give a special thanks to the many nurses and caregivers at Twin Lakes that treated Tim like family, especially Miki and Cheri. Also thanks to Transitional Hospice Care for their support.

Visitation will be 11:00am-1:00pm (EST) Monday at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N Third St, West Terre Haute, with burial in Bethesda Memorial Park.
