Listen to Obituary

Susan Boldrey, 64, of Terre Haute, Indiana, passed away in her home on August 10, 2026.

Born on April 27, 1962, in Terre Haute, Susan was the daughter of Thomas and Diane Hauser. She spent many years managing Evergreen Storage, where her hard work and dedication became familiar to the many people she met throughout the years.

More than anything, Susan loved her family. She was a devoted mother, loving partner, sister, aunt, and an incredibly proud grandmother. To her grandchildren, she was affectionately known as “Old Granny” and “Nina”—titles she wore proudly and with plenty of personality.

Some of Susan’s happiest moments were simply spent surrounded by family. She loved to cook family meals and bring everyone together around the table. For Susan, a meal was about much more than the food—it was about having the people she loved together in one place, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company. Those family gatherings, meals, and moments together became memories that her loved ones will cherish forever.

Susan had a gift for making people laugh. She brought humor wherever she went and had a wonderfully mischievous side. If someone did something they probably shouldn’t have—but it made Susan laugh—you could almost guarantee she would egg them on to do it again. Seeing the people around her laughing and enjoying themselves brought her happiness, and her sense of humor made even ordinary moments memorable.

Her grandchildren were among the greatest joys of her life. She loved them fiercely, was endlessly proud of them, and treasured watching them grow. Whether they called her Grandma, Old Granny, or Nina, they knew just how much they were loved. The laughter, stories, family meals, and memories she created with them will be carried forward for generations.

Susan also loved to travel and experience new places. She enjoyed getting away, seeing something different, and—most importantly—making memories with the people she loved.

She was also an avid Indianapolis Colts fan. Through winning seasons and losing ones, Susan remained a proud fan and loved cheering on her team.

Susan will be lovingly remembered by her life partner, William Lark; her children, David (Kristeena) Owen, Ashley (Michael) Montgomery, and Ryan (Keriann) Hunt; and her grandchildren, Conner (Eliza), Gabriel, Isaac and Mattingly Owen; Hunter and Bentley Thompson; Malia and Jaxon Hunt; and Parker and Grayson Davis.

She is also survived by her sisters, Shari (Greg) Cruse and Sally (Tim) Fagg; her brother, Steven Hauser; as well as several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and many others who loved her.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Diane Hauser; her grandparents, Max and Lanore Wright and Floyd and Hazel Hauser; and her nephew, Justin Hamilton.

Graveside services will be held at Fletcher’s Chapel Cemetery, 15898-15694 Township Line Road, Pimento, IN 47866, beginning at 2:00pm with her uncle David Wright officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.

Susan leaves behind far more than a list of names and dates. She leaves behind a family who knew how deeply she loved them, grandchildren who will forever remember their Old Granny and Nina, family tables filled with memories, countless stories that will continue to make people laugh, and a lifetime of moments shared with the people who mattered most to her.

Her place at the family table may now be empty, but the love and laughter she brought to it will remain forever.
