Steven Dale Strole, 66, of New Goshen, passed away July 11, 2026 at his residence.
He was born October 4, 1959 in Clinton, Indiana to Dale Strole and Mary Crossley Strole.
Steve was a farmer and worked for the State Highway Department for 20 years, and was a member of the Teamsters through S & T Construction. He was a 1977 graduate of West Vigo High School, member of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge #687 F&AM. He enjoyed going to casinos. He loved his family and checked in with them daily. He also enjoyed various activities with his grandkids, especially camping, and driving around on his Ranger checking the fields.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Travis Auterson; and his father-in-law, Bud Whitesell.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Patty; his children, Stacey Hamrick (Jason), Cory Strole (Kaylee), Megan Lawn (Dustin), and Dale Strole (Taylor); his special mother-in-law, Macky Whitesell; and sister, Sheri Henson ( special brother-in-law Greg). He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Braden (Laney), Bailey (Josh), Briar, Rylie, Drake, Amya, Charlie, Case, Linkoln, Noah, Tinsley, and Lyda; and he was looking forward to meeting his first great grandchild, Hudson, very special friends Ronnie Lamb and Brad Cooper, and several nieces and nephews.
A Private Burial will be held on July 21, 2026 in Strole Cemetery with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held on July 21, 2026 at 4:30 p.m. at the Universal Young Men’s Club, 18343 South County Road 110 East, Clinton, Indiana 47842. The family welcomes memorial contributions to the New Goshen Fire Department or Fayette Farmalls 4-H Club, in lieu of flowers.
