Steven Roy Hauser

It is with profound sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Steve.

Steve was born in Terre Haute IN, on July 19,1967 to Thomas and Diane Hauser.

Steve entered into his eternal paradise on August 18, 2026 where his mom, dad, and sister Susan lovingly welcomed him home.

Steve was a kind soul who loved deeply. Steve repeatedly expressed his thankfulness for the life he had been blessed with even though there were periods in his life that were challenging. He always said he wouldn’t change a thing because the good and bad made him the person he had become. Steve knew Jesus Christ and was spiritually ready for this journey.

Steve was a loving father, a faithful friend, a treasured brother, uncle, nephew, son and grandson. One of his greatest joys was being a doting Papaw to the best looking grandkids ever!! If you didn’t know just how cute they were, all you needed to do was ask him.

Steve leaves behind his four sons and their partners, Justin and Katie Fagg, Josh and Laurissa Hauser, Danny Hauser and Ashley Counterman, Nick Hauser and Mikala Panula. His grandchildren , Carter Fagg, Makenzie and Layla Craft, Brighton, Lennon and Ainsley Hauser, Rylan and Emma Hauser, Amyra and Weston Roy Hauser.

His sisters Shari and (Greg) Cruse and Sally and (Tim) Fagg.

Nieces and nephews

Tim Deremiah, Rachel Hamilton (Casey) David Owen (Kristeena) Ashley Montgomery (Michael) Ryan Hunt (Keriann) Ciara Foster (Justin) and Cody Fagg (Jenn). Several great nieces and nephews. Several aunts uncles and cousins and friends that were like his family.

Steve was thankful for his special Aunt Marcia Payne that always made the effort to spend time with him as well as his doting Sisters and niece Ciara who were his substitute mothers and faithful coordinators !

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister Susan and his nephew Justin Hamilton .

Steve’s services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 11:00 AM, with his special Uncle David Wright officiating who baptized Steve exactly 1 year prior to his death. Steve’s friend and nephew Justin Foster will also speak. Burial will follow in Fletcher’s Chapel Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Friday, August 21, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM in the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steve’s four sons, his great nephew Colten Foster and his 5th Son Shane Drake. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins Chris and Mike Hauser who Steve considered his brothers.
