Stancial William Baker

Stancial William "Stan" Baker, 67, of West Terre Haute passed away at 5:10 a.m. Sunday September 11, 2016 in his residence after a lengthy illness. He was a self employed general contractor for many years as owner of Baker Construction Company. He had also been employed with J.I. Case at Terre Haute for seventeen years. He was born December 6, 1948 at West Terre Haute to Charles W. Baker and Wanda P. Maynard Baker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Baker on September 6, 2012. Survivors include: a son stancial William "Stan" Baker Jr.; a daughter Michelle "Sissy" Ball; two step-daughters Shellee Diane Fitchpatrick and Aimmie Davis; four brothers Charles Maynard, William Gilbert, Bob Baker, and Kenny Baker; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his caretaker Charlie; and his dog/best friend Bear. He was also preceded in death by his parents and grandparents. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Leek officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until service time Wednesday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of donor's choice.
