Shelly Lyn Willis

Shelly Lyn Willis, 63 of Terre Haute, Indiana, entered into her eternal home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 18, 2026. She passed peacefully in her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on January 12, 1963 in Clinton, Indiana to Allena Lloyd.

Shelly was a 1981 graduate of South Vermillion High School. She also earned a Bachelors Degree - Interior Design from Indiana State University and an Associate Degree - Radiology Technology from Ivy Tech. She worked many years at Columbia House and also as a Radiology Technologist for an orthopedic physician in Terre Haute. Her greatest work and joy was being a mother and a wife. She attended Cross Tabernacle Church. She was involved in women’s Bible Study Fellowship for many years.

Shelly endured many years of challenging health issues but met them with strength, grace, an infectious smile and a positive attitude that was beyond comprehension. Her daily motto was “choose to be happy”. She never passed up an opportunity to compliment and encourage others or try to help someone have a better day by blessing them in some small way. She enjoyed spending time with her family that she loved dearly, camping and boating and traveling.

Shelly married her husband, Randy Willis, on September 10, 1988 and they just recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother Maxine Hunt whom she considered her best friend and her mother-in law Deloris Jane Willis. She is survived by her husband Randy Willis, daughters Hannah Willis of Fairbanks, Indiana and Hope Willis of Greenwood, Indiana, mother Allena Belser (Craig) of Clinton, Indiana, sisters Angela Smith (Dave) of Montezuma, Indiana, Sara Kelley of Greenwood, Indiana, brother Greg Hunt (April) of Franklin, Indiana, Uncle Randy Lloyd (Holly) of New Palestine, Indiana, father-in law David Willis of Terre Haute, Indiana, sister-in law Robin Vinardi (Nick) of New Goshen, Indiana, brother-in law Mark Willis (Linda) of Dana, Indiana and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.

A special thank you to the Gentiva Hospice staff, nurses, aides and chaplain that showed such passionate care over the past several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at 7:00 PM, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday from 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM in the funeral home. There will be no graveside services in keeping with Shelly's wishes, cremation was chosen.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Liver Foundation or the American Diabetes Association.
