Sarah E. Joy

Sarah E. Joy, 77 of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2026 in her daughter Jamie’s residence in Indianapolis. She was born in Terre Haute on June 29, 1949 to James Burley Joy and Virginia Lucille Hedden Joy.

Sarah loved to cook for her family and enjoyed playing BINGO, slot machines, and solitaire.

Sarah is survived by long-time significant other, Randy Price, five daughters; Melody Ordway (Matt), Twila Berkley (Gary), Candy Bledsoe, Jamie Solis Garcia, and Jennifer Patterson (Monte), as well as her grandchildren; Tristan Smith, Jada Thompson, Tyris Bledsoe, Trenton Barnhill, Layla Bradford, Oz’yah Bradford, Isaiah Batson, Brendon Solis Garcia, Brody Solis Garcia, and A’viyana Solis Garcia, and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings; Exie Dickerson, Edward Joy, Connie Wood, Ronnie Joy, and Mary Evans, special nephew Jim McCalister (Donna), and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home,220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Steve Fehrenbach officiating. Burial will follow in Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home.
