Ruthann Ward

Ruthann Ward, 77, of West Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2026 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care. She was born in Clinton, IN on April 2, 1949 to William Boatman and Rosemary Denehie Boatman.

Ruthann worked at Reuben H. Donnelley for many years before retiring as a manager with Casey’s General Store. She loved her pets and enjoyed doing puzzle games and was a big fan of Elvis Presley and the St. Louis Cardinals.

Ruthann is survived by her husband William E. Ward, II, as well as her son Ryan Ward (Maranda). She is also survived by her step-son Alan Ward (Amanda) and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Kelly Boatman, step-son Eric Ward, and three brothers; Larry Boatman, Richard Boatman, and Carl Boatman.

Graveside services will be held at Pleasantview Cemetery on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 10:00 AM, with burial to immediately follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial Contributions be made to the Terre Haute Humane Society, in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
