Russell Randall Cox

Russell R. Cox, 68 of Terre Haute, passed away at Union Hospital on March 15th, 2026. He was born on August 24th, 1957, to Donald and Claudia Cox.

Russell proudly served his country in the U.S. Army for 4 years as a paratrooper and was stationed at Fort Brag. He worked for many years as a machine operator at Ampacet. When Russell wasn’t working, he enjoyed being outdoors, fishing all day long. He was an avid bowler and loved to shoot guns and drink beer. But most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids.

Russell is survived by his son, Shawn Cox (Lindsey); a sister, Wedonia Swalls; a girlfriend, Pam Froschauer; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Donald W. Cox and Claudia (Russell) Cox; as well as a sister Peggy Marazak.

In keeping with his wishes cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
