Ruby (Swalls) Philabaum

Ruby Philabaum, 94 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 7:04 PM on Thursday, June 6, 2019 in her residence.  She was born in Terre Haute on January 13, 1925 to Charles Swalls and Lela Stephens Swalls.

Ruby had previously worked at both CBS and Columbia Records, and was a member of Twelve Points Order of Eastern Star Chapter # 528

Ruby is survived by her son-in-law James Carlson, and two grandchildren; Jason Carlson (wife Jean) and Christina Washington (husband Leamon).  She is also survived by her siblings; Shirley Barnes, Gene Swalls (wife Mary Jo), Rex Swalls (wife Sandra), and Barbara Jones as well as five great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her 1st husband Charles Edward Fisher, and 2nd husband Richard Edgar Philabaum, as well as her daughter, Brenda Lynn Carlson.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
