Rose Gertrude Mann

Rose "Gertrude" Roberts Mann, 89, of Terre Haute passed away at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday September 20, 2016 in Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus at Terre Haute. She had been the head bookkeeper for the A&P grocery stores in Terre Haute for twenty five years. She and her husband had been co-owners of Larrison's Tax Service in Terre Haute for twelve years as well as owning and operating the Dairy Queen on south seventh street in Terre Haute for twelve years. She was born February 10, 1927 one of twelve children in Hooks, TX to Herbert Jesse Smith and Margaret Ann Fields Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Lee Mann. Survivors include: a daughter Lois Marie Groth and her husband William Jr. Groth ; a granddaughter Catherine Sage and her husband Kevin; a grandson William L. Groth and his wife Leslie; a brother Plen Smith and his wife Freda; three great granddaughters Angie Groth, Jennifer Groth, and Heather Groth; four great great grandchildren Kyler, Peyton, Kayden, and Kolton; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by ten siblings. Gertrude was a member of the Oak Hill Church at Riley, a member of the West Central Indiana Bird Club, the Red Hat Society, and a member of TOPS where she was the leader for twelve years. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Saturday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Fagg officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park.
