Roni Renee (Gammie) Lewis

Roni Renee Lewis, 58 of Brazil, IN, passed away at 5:19 AM on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at Meadows Manor East Convalescent Center.  She was born in Terre Haute on January 13, 1961 to Roland Gammie and Martha Belleu Gammie.

Roni was a shift leader at Pizza Hut for 7 years until cancer took hold of her July 15, 2014. She enjoyed her grandchildren, spending time with her family, and gardening.

Roni is survived by her daughter Amanda Jo Overshiner (husband Joe), her companion of 32 years, James C. Smith, and her mother Martha Gammie.  Also surviving are two grandchildren, Alexia Renee Lewis and Joseph Lee Overshiner, and a sister, Marsha Shanks (husband Tony), as well as one nephew and several nieces and several great nieces and nephews.

Roni was preceded in death by her father Roland Gammie, as well as both sets of grandparents, Jack and Florence Belleu and Francis and Sarah Gammie, and a very special friend and sister Valerie Steele who also died of cancer.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at 1:00 PM, with Bob Roush officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Saturday from 10 :00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
