Robert Scott Hughes

Robert Scott Hughes, 53 of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord at 11:20 AM on Friday, June 29, 2018 in his residence surrounded by his family.  He was born in Terre Haute on May 1, 1965 to Robert J. Hughes and Nancy Ewing Hughes.

Scott was a firefighter and served over 20 years at the Honey Creek Fire Department and he also enjoyed his friends at Little Cee’s Pizza.

Scott is survived by his two children;  R.J. Hughes and Ariel Hughes, and his mother, Nancy Ewing Hughes Morgan.  Also surviving is his brother, Monte Hughes (wife Millie), and his sister, Amy Martin (husband Randy).  In addition, he also leaves behind nieces and nephews;  Courtney Hughes, Bobbie Lynn Hughes, Keith Hughes, and Tyler Martin as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Hughes, paternal grandparents James and Catherine Hughes, maternal grandparents Wilbur and Virginia Ewing, step-father Charlie Morgan, and a special uncle, Tony Ewing.

Funeral services will be held at Faith Wesleyan Church, 6751 Carlisle St., Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 7 :00 PM, with Pastor Bob McHenry officiating.  Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the church.  Cremation will follow the service. In honor of Scott, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Scott Hughes Memorial Fund, C/O of any First Financial Bank location.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
