Rebecca Joanne Sims

Rebecca Joanne Sims, 66 of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:01 AM on Saturday, June 27, 2026 in Union Hospital. She was born August 26, 1959 to Wayne, Sr. and Velma Price.

Joanne attended West Side Christian Church and Eighth Street Wesleyan Church in West Terre Haute. She liked to watch wrestling, and going camping with her grandkids and two of her great nephews Logan and Brayden Price.

Joanne married Paul Sims, Sr. on April 7, 1980 and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2022. Also preceding her in death was her mother Velma Eads Price, brother, Wayne Price, Jr., nephew Wayne Price, III, and sister-in-law Debbie Price.

Joanne is survived by her kids Paul Sims, Jr., Roger Shumaker (wife Elizabeth), and Sarah Ashley Shumaker, and her father Wayne Price, Sr. Also surviving is her sister Sarah Price, three brothers; Steve Price (Deb), Tom Price, and Jeff Price (Denise), and her grandkids; Olivia, Sierra, Gavin, Kyle, and RJ, as well as several nieces and nephews. Joanne’s best friend was Loretta Price, she loved spending time with Loretta and Adam Price.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Friday, July 3, 2026 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Chad Winters officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM in the funeral home. Cremation will follow services.
