Rebecca “Becky” Jo Putman (Day) of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 in The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care surrounded by her family. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 25, 1951 to Roy Edward Day and Barbara Ruth Wade Day.
Becky spent the majority of her life serving those around her out of a love for Christ and others. She married the love of her life, Ted William Putman Sr. on October 12, 1969. She worked as a cosmetologist at Sandy’s Touch of Magic, which was a Twelve Points business for many years, and as a preschool teacher for King’s Kids Childcare. Becky filled many volunteer roles at King’s Harvest Four Square Church, where she was a member for 23 years. She served as a Sunday School teacher for 21 years, a Deaconess, an original member of Higher Hope and Adopt A Block ministries, and a frequent volunteer for the King’s Harvest Food Bank.
Becky is survived by her husband Ted William Putman Sr., her brother Jerry Day (Sharon) and sister Diana Day, also surviving are her children; Roy “Butch” William Putman (daughter Taylor Putman), and Tiffany Boren (husband Jason, sons Jack and Grant Boren), as well as her granddaughter Cassandra “Cassie” Whallon (Zach) whom Becky raised after her son’s passing. Becky also had 4 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Edward Day, her mother, Barbara Ruth Wade Day, and a son, Ted William Putman Jr. (surviving daughters Cassandra Whallon and Shelby Morlan).
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, IN. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 with Pastor Dennis Leek officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at: www.fitzpatrick-funeralhome.com
