Mary Ann Whallon, 88 of West Terre Haute, went to Heaven on Thursday, November 9, 2023 in Providence Health Care. She was born in Vigo County on April 28, 1935 to George Joseph Fischer and Esther Veronica Coslett Fischer.
Mary Ann is survived by three children; John Whallon (Margaret), Mark Whallon (Julia), and Mary Jo Porter (Terry). She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Tennis and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, the love of her life, Ennis Sandford “Jack” Whallon, to whom she was married for 67 years and was always by his side through thick and thin, as well as her brother, Bernard Fischer.
Mary Ann was a member of St. Mary’s Village Church for many years and was a cancer survivor, she was a very determined woman, there was nothing she wasn’t willing to try.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Village Church on Friday, November 17, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN, with a Rosary Service to begin at 7:00 PM. The family would like to give a huge thank you to Providence Health Care for their great care of Mary Ann during her final days.
