Mary Maxine Kennedy

Mary Maxine Kennedy, 87, of West Terre Haute passed away peacefully at 12:15 a.m. Thursday September 22, 2016 in her home with her family by her side. She retired as a supervisor from Columbia House at Terre Haute after nearly thirty years of service. She was born June 19, 1929 in Praireton, IN to Fred Holmes and Mary A. Edwards Holmes. Her Husband, Paul R. "Baldy" Kennedy whom she married on January 24, 1948 preceded her in death on July 10, 2012. Survivors include: a daughter Mary Ellen Morgan and her husband Jay of Chandler, AZ; a son Jerry Kennedy and his wife Cheryl of West Terre Haute; four grandchildren Kelly Nylander and her husband Micah of McKinney, TX, Jenny Heimaster and her husband Scott of Oceanside, CA, Todd Kennedy and his wife Kelli of Terre Haute, and Kirsten McGrew and her husband Jay of West Terre Haute; ten great grandchildren Kelsey, Bailee, Joshua, Peighton, Kamryn, Haleigh, Trevor, Kadien, Holden, and Elijah. She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters Helen, Annabelle, Ruth, and Edith; and two brothers Bus and Les. Mary was a member of the Bethany United Church Of Christ for over fifty years. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and spending time with family and friends. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Moore officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and 9:00 a.m. until service time Tuesday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) or Hospice Of The Wabash Valley with envelopes available in the funeral home.
