Mary Lou Parsons Grindle, 81, of West Terre Haute passed away at 4:33 p.m. Saturday October 8, 2016 in Union Hospital. She retired from Bemis Corporation in Terre Haute after thirty two years of service. She was born January 28, 1935 in Vigo County, IN to Clarence Leon Parsons and Thelma Irene Williams Parsons. Her Husband, Edward H. Grindle whom she married on January 14, 1954 preceded her in death on September 25, 2002. Survivors include: two daughters and Sons-in-law Katherine Sue and Paul Hanna and Mary Kay and Dane Mount; a son and daughter-in-law Edward H. Grindle Jr. and Sue Walker Grindle; two sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Bob Eads and Nancy and Jack Archer; a brother and sister-in-law Elmer Leon and Jeannie Parsons; five grandchildren Michael Hanna (Bobbi), Tommy Jon Hanna, Devan Darkis, Frank Grindle, and Robin Lynn Botello (Sesar); ten great grandchildren; two aunts Vera Heyen and Charlene Williams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by a sister Norma May Hedden and a special uncle William Williams (aka Uncle Bill). For many years she had been an active member of the Wayne Newton American Legion Post 346 Ladies Auxillary as well as being very involved with her husband with Veteran Affairs matters and the creation of the Veterans Plaza at the Vigo County Courthouse. From an early age she enjoyed taking pictures and considered herself an amateur photographer. She also enjoyed ceramics, gardening, bird watching and collecting angels of which she had an extensive collection. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she was always very active with her grandchildren and great grandchildren whom referred to her as the greatest grandma in the world. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Roush officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and prior to services Tuesday.
