Margie R. Whitesell

Margie R. Whitesell, 91 1/2, of West Terre Haute passed away February 6, 2024 in Harrison’s Crossing Health Campus.  She was born in New Goshen on August 6, 1932 to Tony Meadlo and Myrtle Christenberry Meadlo.

 Margie is survived by three children; Brenda Whitesell, Kenny Whitesell (Anita), and Donna Hux (Rob), as well as her grandchildren; Brooklyn Zigler (Brian), Kayla Sinders (Jonathan), Carlie Smith (Ryan), Heather Whitesell (Branden), Jessie Kellum (Dustin).  She is also survived by her great grandchildren; Ainsleigh, Tinleigh, Brinleigh, Finleigh, Alice, Royce, Annabell, Raylan, Ryker, Amelia, Dean, and Charles, as well as two brothers, Larry Meadlo and Paul Meadlo (Kay), and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Donald Whitesell on July 27, 1996, and two siblings, Charles Meadlo and Evelyn Daugherty.

Margie was a member of the New Goshen Lions Club, the New Goshen Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, VFW Post # 972 Ladies Auxiliary, and was a Terre Award recipient for outstanding service.

Services for Margie will be Friday, February 9, 2024 in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3^rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, 47885 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating.  Burial will follow in Pleasantview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the New Goshen Lions Club, in her memory.
