Kenneth Eugene Snedeker

Kenneth Eugene "Kenny" Snedeker, 80, of Marshall, IL passed away at 6:52 p.m. Thursday April 20, 2017 in Union Hospital Emergency Room at Terre Haute. He was born November 25, 1936 to Freda Lucille Snedeker. His mother passed away when he was eleven years old and he later went to live with his Uncle and Aunt Johnie and March Snedeker where he made his home until he graduated from Marshall High School in 1954. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1957 and after returning from the service he went to work at Quality Lime Company. Kenny was a motorcycle enthusiast and rode cycles for over sixty five years. He enjoyed being a Ham Radio Operator for over fifty years. He served as treasurer of the Clark County Fair for ten years. He was a member of American Motorcycle Association (AMA), American Radio Relay League (ARRL), National Rifle Association (NRA), Gun Owners Or America (GOA), Heritage Trail ABATE, and the American Legion Post 90 at Marshall. He was of Lutheran Faith. Kenny married Margaret Sue Amacher on November 7, 1964 and together they raised four children. He retired from Quality Lime in 1999 after forty two years. Surviving are his wife Sue; a daughter Flossie Lawrence; son Kevin (Nancee); and a daughter-in-law Mitzi Snedeker all of Marshall; Grandchildren Michael, Melissa, Misty, Amanda, Emily, Bryan, Jennifer, Melissa, and Alan; Great Grandchildren Summer, John, Chandler, Kaylee, Luke, Josh, Mack, Sienna, Luca, and Kimber; two sisters Virginia Cook (Bill) of Marshall, and Doloros Sahba (Max) of California; Cousins he was raised with as brothers and sisters Ted Snedeker (Kay), Vance Snedeker (Shannon), Eric Snedeker, Winnie Chappel (Gary), Tim Snedeker (Naki), Loretta Thompson (Dan), and Phyllis Readinger. He was preceded in death by his mother; two sons Van and Gary; one grandchild Jai; his Uncle and Aunt Johnie and March Snedeker and Aunt Opal Martin. According to his wishes cremation has been arranged. A Celebration Of Life Service will be 5:00 p.m. Wednesday in Kenny's Honor in the American Legion Post 90 (upstairs), 302 S. 8th St., Marshall, IL with Bro. Billie Ray Ulrey officiating and Military Rites by the Military Honor Guard from American Legion Post 90 and Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 5975. Visitation will be 3:00 p.m. until service time Wednesday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Home for Veterans of Hutsonville or to the Marshall Cemetery Maintenance Fund with envelopes available at the service. Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home of West Terre Haute.
