Karen Ann Funkhouser

Karen Ann Funkhouser, 60, of Terre Haute passed away peacefully in her home after a lengthy illness at 8:44 a.m. Monday January 30, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born November 21, 1956 in Vigo County, IN to Henry David Hicks Sr. and Opal Lee Allen Hicks. Survivors include Her Husband of twenty seven years, Raymond S. Funkhouser Sr. whom she married on July 20, 1990; a daughter Nichole M. Walls (Lloyd); a son J. R. Funkhouser and his girlfriend Allie; a brother Curt Hicks (Sherri); a sister Beverly Fortune (companion Elwin Vaughn); and three grandchildren: Arianna Funkhouser, Keghan Walls, and Annabelle Huffington; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Mike Wright, Larry Wright, and Henry Hicks Jr.; and a sister Janet Higginbotham. She enjoyed attending dirt track racing, playing bingo, and gambling. According to her wishes cremation was chosen. A Celebration Of Life will be 4:30 p.m. Sunday February 12, 2017 in the Collett Park Pavilion, N. 7th St., Terre Haute, IN. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Karen Funkhouser memorial fund with envelopes available at the service. Care and arrangements were entrusted to Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
