Juanita Belle (Taylor) Thompson

Juanita Belle Thompson of West Terre Haute passed into her eternal home Friday, July 20, 2018 surrounded by her family.

She was born September 12, 1920 in Dennison, Illinois, the only daughter of Orville and Josephine Taylor, who preceded her in death.  She married Foster Thompson on August 23, 1942 and he preceded her in death in 1991.

She was a wonderful lady that loved God, her life, her family and her two cats. She was a long- time resident of West Terre Haute and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. In earlier years, Juanita was employed by Schultz Department Store in the Business Office.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda (Jim) Plew; a son, Loren Thompson; three grandsons, Jimmy (Gwen) Plew, Sean Plew and Dee Thompson; a granddaughter, Leslie Thompson; three great grandchildren,  Camden, Callie and Carsen Plew. She had two cousins she was extremely close to, Mary Jane Schaefer and Darrell Kirby.

She was known by her family and friends as Dee, Granny, Needer Belle, Grandma Totnon and More Mamaw by her great grandchildren.

A Celebration of her life will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana, with a visitation from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Reverend Robin Blansett and Brother Chris Coney will be officiating; burial will be in Marshall Cemetery, Marshall, Illinois. The family would like to thank Dana Warner and the staff at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care and the Providence Health Care for their sincere and wonderful care that was given to Juanita. Also, thank you to special friends, Bill and Marty Dunbar, Ralph (deceased) and Bonnie Monaghan, and Jim and Beverly Herrington.

One of Juanita’s last requests was to go home. She has arrived at her eternal home. Rest In Peace, Dee.
