Juanita May Atterson, 76, of West Terre Haute has traveled back home to live in the glory of God. She was born September 13, 1941 at Terre Haute to Arthur Sollars and Mildred Setty Sollars. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Atterson Jr. and later by her companion Jerry Webster. Survivors include: a daughter Angela Atterson and her husband Bill Benson of West Terre Haute; a son John Atterson of West Terre Haute; a sister and brother-in-law Mary and Art Sappington of Terre Haute; a brother-in-law Ron Edington of West Terre Haute, five grandchildren Holly Atterson, Olivia Atterson, Allie Benson-Atterson, Trevor Benson-Atterson, Gabe Benson-Atterson; two step-grandchildren Michael Roberts and Lacey Benson Adams; two great grandchildren Katelynn Atterson and Tori Glick; several nieces and nephews and her best friend of many years Sharon Carbo. She was also preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Teresa Atterson; a brother Kenneth Sollars and a sister Nancy Edington. She attended South Vigo Congregational Church for many years. She loved to cook and found joy in feeding people, listening to gospel music, and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Vigo/Black Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and prior to services on Thursday.
