John Wesley Perry

John Wesley Perry, 87 of Terre Haute, passed away at 2:19 PM on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.  He was born in Mt. Carmel, IL on October 4, 1931 to William Albert Perry and Virgie Young Perry.

John is survived by his wife Esther Fay Hoopingarner Perry, and their ten children:  Connie Coon (Rodger), Jacquita Foster (Ron), Carol Jean McConnell (Michael), Dee Dee Decker, Shirley Jo Fry (Bryan, Sr.), John Perry (Andrea), Michelle Perry, and Jay Perry (Melanie).  Also surviving is a brother, Albert Frank Perry (Cindy), and a sister-in-law, Ruth Cesinger (Errol).  Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and 20 great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by two sons; Troy Decker and John Wesley Perry, Jr., also by two brothers and three sisters.

John was a member of Gospel Assembly Church and worked many years in construction, also was a handyman and enjoyed helping people fix things.  He loved his cat “Indiana” as well as all animals.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Daniel Dycus officiating.  Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at the funeral home.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow services.
