John Howard Creasey

John Howard Creasey, 69, of West Terre Haute passed away Saturday January 30, 2016 in his residence. He retired from Eli Lilly Clinton Laboratories after over twenty five years of service. He was born November 11, 1946 in West Terre Haute to John Creasey and Dorothy Fears Creasey. Survivors include: His Wife, of thirty six years, Linda McCarty Creasey; two sons Rick Porter and Chad Creasey; four grandchildren Samantha Porter, John Porter, Cody Creasey, and McKenzie Creasey; a great granddaughter Aubree Leigh Fisher; a sister and brother-in-law Betty and Bob Norris; a brother and sister-in-law Steve and Jeanie Creasey; his Mother-in-law Mary "Rose" McCarty; a beloved aunt Ethel Williams; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Michael Creasey; a granddaughter Miranda Rachelle Porter; his parents; two brothers Kenny and Charles Creasey; his grandparents Grace and John Creasey and Frank and Myrtle Fears; and a beloved uncle Reese Williams. John was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a Corporal with Hotel Co. 2/3/3 and was involved in battles including Hill Fights 881 & 861 Khe Sanh serving from 1966 to 1968. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars Post 6574. John was very fond of his Mother-in-law and Father-in-law Rose and George McCarty. He was always there to help them in any way when needed. He was an amateur gunsmith, loved to hunt and fish and teaching his grandson John to hunt and shoot. Funeral services for John will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday February 6, 2016 in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth Coffman officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites by the Vigo County Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday.
