Jimmy Dean Elkins

Jimmy Dean Elkins, 66 of West Terre Haute, passed away on April 24th, 2026, at Union Hospital. He was born on June 16th, 1959, to Albert and Betty Elkins.

Jimmy graduated from West Vigo High School in 1978. He would go on to marry Norma Elkins and were happily married for 33 years. Jimmy loved to spend his time tinkering on anything he could get his hands on. When he wasn’t taking something apart or tinkering, Jimmy loved to fish, watch NASCAR or the Indianapolis Colts, and eat friend chicken. He loved to collect hats, sunglasses, and motorized bicycles. However, Jimmy’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his family and friends whenever he could.

He is survived by his daughters, Christina Elkins and Angela Elkins (Josh); Sons, James Elkins (Makayla) and Alex Santos (Jaeda); Stepsons Richard Lee Bracken and Christopher Price; Sisters, Christina Bridges (Ray), Sue Dickens (David), and Cindy Elkins; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, and nieces and nephews.

Jimmy is proceeded in death by his wife, Norma Elkins; parents, Albert Elkins and Betty Elkins; brothers, Ike Elkins, Frank Elkins, Ted Elkins, Terry Elkins, Billy Elkins; Sisters, Nila Elkins, Cathy Elkins, and Betty Jean Elkins.

In keeping with his wishes cremation was chosen. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
