Jesse Walker

Jesse Walker, 83 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 in Union Hospital.  He was born in Vigo County on October 11, 1940 to Scott and Gladys Walker.

Jesse was a member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church and worked as a  bookkeeper for Wabash Machine and Burr Niswonger Heating and Conditioning.  He was an avid BINGO player and had a great love for milkshakes, but more than anything, he loved his family.

Jesse is survived by his four children; Jesse Walker (Christiane), Gary Walker (Robyn), Doug Walker, and Cindy Marrs (Matt), as well as his grandchildren; Courtney Broady, Tanner Walker, Blake Walker, Austin Walker, Chrislyn Marrs, Cierra Marrs (Chandler Smith), and Jessica Marrs, and two great grandchildren, Hayden and Hadley Broady.  Also surviving is one sister, Leona Hicks (Jim), and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Christine Edington Walker who preceded him in death on September 18, 2014, four brothers; Harry Walker, Dick Walker, Bob Walker, and Lester Walker who was his twin, as well as two sisters, Hazel Walker and Norma Cox.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Monday, December 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Bob Roush officiating.  Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton, IN.  Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, December 3, 2023 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the funeral home and again on Monday from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. The family welcomes memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 6076 US Hwy 150, West Terre Haute, in lieu of flowers.
