Jack Leroy Oliver

March 21, 1957 — August 24, 2023

Terre Haute

Jack Leroy Oliver, 66 of Terre Haute, Indiana fondly known as “Pimp” or Jackie, departed his earthly life into his eternal peace on Thursday, August 24th, 2023. Jack, the youngest of three, was born March 21st, 1957, to Wallace Oliver, Sr and Christine Shade Oliver in Brazil, Indiana.

At an early age, Jack accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as His Savior. To Jack, family was EVERYTHING! He was a loving and devoted father, papaw, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He was a proud man, which could make him stubborn and feisty at times, but he was also very kind and loving to those who knew him.

Once a golden glove boxer in his youth, he maintained that fighting spirit throughout his life. Jack was an avid fan of the Chicago Bulls and the Miami Dolphins, but his all-time favorite player would be the great Michael Jordan. In Jack’s true competitive nature, he faithfully played his lottery numbers with the determination to hit "The Big One" so he could take care of his family forever.

Jack was a devoted employee with Fox Canteen for many years. Jack began a new career with S&T Fulfillment where he eventually retired from in 2022. He was a dedicated member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 340. He enjoyed spending time with his fellow Legion members and participating in community events. If you ever attended an event at “The Post” you would find Pimp there; clean and creased from head to toe, mingling, and grooving on the dance floor.

Jack's greatest pride and joy were his children and his "G-babies". He set high expectations of them and loved to brag about all their accomplishments. Jack made sure to support them because his family made him proud. Jack cherished going to family reunions, he would insist we all show up every year, and if we didn’t, we would hear about it. He also loved Thanksgiving, Christmas, family gatherings, and especially fish fry’s.  His legacy will live through his family and those whose lives he impacted. Jack will be greatly missed, forever loved, and always in our hearts.

Jack was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved sister Georgia Mae Tompkins (their bond was truly unbreakable), his brother Wallace Oliver, Jr, brother-in-law Aaron “Preacher” Tompkins, Jr,  and two grandchildren, Amiyah Parker and Rian King-Dickerson. Jack is survived by his children, Shawna (Isaac) Oliver, Camilia Oliver, Robert “AJ” (Anna) Patton, and Ashley (Reshaun) King-Dickerson. His g-babies Dai’Von, Jada (Marcus), Ayrieanna, Laniya, Lela, Reshaun Jr, Quentin III, Roman, Prince, and an awaited granddaughter on the way. His dearest nieces and nephew whom he loved like his own Linda (Rob) Wann, Aaron Tompkins III, and Sophia (Omar) Tompkins. A host of great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. He leaves to cherish his most special memories with Oleta Jackson, the mother of his children.

In keeping with Jack’s wishes cremation has been chosen. The family would like to invite everyone to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, September 9th, 2023, at The Main Event, 10001 E Margaret Drive, Terre Haute, Indiana, 47803; from 3:00 – 7:00 PM.
