Herschel James Moss

Herschel James Moss, 82 of West Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. He was born in Terre Haute on February 9, 1942 to Herschel Moss and Dorothy Jean Bolin Moss.

Jim attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church and along with visiting other churches, he enjoyed singing and listening to gospel and classic country music, but his greatest source of enjoyment was his grandkids. He was known as always having a pocketful of candy to pass out to people.

Jim is survived by his wife of 64 years, Karen Brown Moss and two children, Scott Moss (Lisa) and Molly Herb (Rodney), his grandchildren; McKinsey Foster (Daulton), Kamdyn Pfeiffer (Ian), Briar Herb (Katie), and Levi Herb, as well as four great grandchildren; Bowen Herb, Coleson Herb, Kohen Foster, and Cayson Foster. He is also survived by a sister, Connie Pitner, and a brother, Tim Moss. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin Moss, and brother Jerry Moss.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 12 Noon, with Pastor Larry Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Dunlap Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for Monday from 10:00 AM -12:00 noon in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or gifts, memorial contributions can be made to either VNA/Hospice of the Wabash Valley, 400 8th Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47804 or The Crisis Pregnancy Center, 530 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807, in his memory.
