Harold Clifton Bowden, 96 of West Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 in his residence. He was born on March 1, 1925 to John Bowden and Lula Bowden.
Harold was a millwright for Anaconda Aluminum and was a member of 1st Assembly of God Church in West Terre Haute. He was a muzzle loading gunsmith and also made knives and throwing tomahawks and practiced the art of scrimshawing.
Harold is survived by his wife Pauline Clark Bowden, who he married December 31, 1949, and their two children, Connie Jean Eikenberry and Thomas Bowden. Also surviving is a sister, Gladys Abrams, three grandchildren; John Bowden (Patricia), Jeremy Bowden (Liz Ann), and Chad Eikenberry (Heather), three great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five sisters; Jean Bonner, Delois Frank, Helen O’Brian, Hilda Dahne, and Virginia Sutt, his brother John Bowden, and two infant brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1st Assembly of God Church, 708 National Ave., West Terre Haute, IN on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 AM -1:00 PM in the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN.
