“Scott” Gilbert Scott Fullmer, 85, of Ft Myers, FL, passed away at 3:45 am Monday, October 7, 2024, at Columbus Regional Hospital. Scott was born October 30, 1938, in Milan, Indiana. He attended Hope High School. Scott served 4 yrs in the United States Air Force. Scott spent most of his life in Columbus, IN. He was a Master Tool & Die Maker at Cummins Engine Company and retired after 44 years. He spent the last ten years with his wife Penny in Ft Myers, Florida, where he considered his home. Scott loved his family and the water and owned a boat for many years. He enjoyed water skiing, bowling, fast cars, and attending car races, and a particular favorite was in Bristol, TN, with friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucy and Gilbert Fullmer, and sister, Ginger Leeder. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, “Penny” Janet Fullmer, and six children; all he considered his own if not by blood by love: Valerie (Ben) Borland, James Thompson , Tony (Kathy) McClean, Shellie Penny (Matt) Martz, Gina (Fullmer) Hoover, and Angela Bell; his nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, October 12th, at First Baptist Church of Taylorsville at 9118 S Main St, Taylorsville, IN, from 11:00 am to 1 pm, with service immediately following at 1 pm. In keeping with the family’s request, cremation will take place after the visitation. The inurnment will be at Elnora Cemetery, date to be determined. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
