Georgia R. Lenderman 1944 – 2024

Georgia R. (Hershey) Lenderman, age 80, of West Terre Haute passed away on Sunday November 24th, 2024 at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, IN. 

Georgia was born September 6, 1944, In Chariton County, Missouri, to Eula Vonceil (Lee) Hershey and Jessee Eugene Hershey. She graduated from Keytesville High School, Northeast Missouri University with a B.S. in English/Speech Education, and Northern Illinois University with a master’s in communication. She taught for over 40 years in the communication department at Indiana State University and English for Vigo County School Corporation at Booker T. Washington High School. She was a member of the Vigo County Teachers Association, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, and Wabash Valley Sewing Connection, where she made many quilts for charities.

Georgia married Lloyd E. Lenderman in August 1970. Together they raised one son, Bryan, while being part of the local agriculture community. 

Georgia is survived by her brother Bobby Hershey, her husband Lloyd, one son, Bryan, along with daughter-in-law, Shannon, and two granddaughters, Jabyn and Kira. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings, Jessie and Bonnie. 

There will be no services. She will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery near Sandford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Fitzpatrick Funeral Home.
