Eva "Jane" (Soder) Bell

Eva “Jane” Bell, 74 of Terre Haute, passed away at 1:10 PM on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Springhill Village.  She was born in West Terre Haute on February 17, 1945 to William O. Soder and Lucille Amelia Woolley Soder.

Jane was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, and also taught Sunday School.  She was also a volunteer at Ryves Hall, was a Girl Scout and Brownie Troop leader, loved to play Bingo, and especially enjoyed spending time with her great grandchild.

She is survived by two children; Michael Bell (Mendy Bailey), and Amy Slaven (Chris Slaven).  She is also survived by her siblings William T. “Bill” Soder, Kathy J. Tevlin, Treena K. Huey, Denny Pigg, and Jack Pigg, as well as eight grandchildren; Ashley Slaven, Sammy Bailey, Austin Bell, Christopher Slaven II, Samantha Slaven, Raven Bell, Abby Vire, and Dillon Vire, and one great grandchild, Elizabeth Garver.

She was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her husband Garlen “Sonny” Bell who passed away November 16, 2002, and two sisters, Christina Taylor and Mary Lou Stoltenberg.

Funeral services will be held at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd St., West Terre Haute, IN on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Rick Swan officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethesda Memorial Park.  Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
