Edythe M. (Conrad) Norris

Edythe Marie Norris, 86, of St. Mary of the Woods, Indiana passed away at 3:00 p.m. Sunday April 22, 2018, surrounded by family.

Edythe was born in Indianapolis on March 10, 1932 to Grace and Leonard Conrad. After graduation from Garfield High School in 1949, Edythe went to work at the Root’s Department Store where she met Laurel Norris, the love of her life. Edythe and Laurel married July 19, 1952. They were married 64 ½ years before Laurel passed away November 8, 2016. Edythe enjoyed cooking, baking and crafts. She loved spending time fishing with Laurel.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Pam Norris, three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Danny Harris, Elizabeth and Rick Von Flatern of Austin, Texas, and Laura and Dale Jackson of Marion, Iowa. She was blessed with eleven grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and one on the way.

Edythe was preceded in death by her parents; one sister and two brothers.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Village Catholic Church with Father Joe Feltz officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery immediately following Mass. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 North 3rd Street, West Terre Haute, Indiana. Rosary service will be at 7:30 p.m. led by Sister Joan Slobig. The family requests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the 14th and Chestnut Community Center in C/O Pastor Bill Felts with envelopes available in the funeral home.
